Welcome to Room 6's Blog...

We are one of the Year 3 & 4 classes at Russley School. We aim to work together well so that we can achieve success in everything we do. To help us be successful students we use the Russley Dispositions. They help us to train our brains to think successfully when we are faced with problems where the answer is not immediately known. On our Blog you will find photos, videos, up-coming events, notices and a range of other exciting information that we would love to share with you!

Week 6 (already!) update

Kia ora everyone,
It's hard to believe that it is Week 6 already! Tomorrow, Room 11 are running the Awards Assembly. If you're able to, please do pop along at 9:20 and have a nosey…

Congratulations to Waka and Olivia F who are receiving Principal's Awards this fortnight. A special congratulations to Waka who is this fortnight's Russley Star Student. Have a look at his interview in the office.

While Miss. Biergard has been teaching this week I've been conducting some reading testing. I am very impressed with how everyone's reading is improving! Here's this week's reading spiel:

BE caught reading

 ... a book, graphic novel, comic, magazine, diary,
      e-reader, kindle, journal, audio book,
                   newspaper

Reading tip

“Do an extreme reading makeover! The goal of an extreme reading makeover is to change his immediate surroundings at home/school to a new reader friendly space:
* cool reading light
* bean bag
* reading fort
* eBook reading area
*magazine rack
* Lego games

Book suggestion
Timmy Failure by Stephan Pastis
Take 11 year-old Timmy Failure - the clueless, comically self-confident CEO of the best detective agency in town, perhaps even the nation. Add his impressively lazy business partner, a very large polar bear named Total. ... and you have a great read!

Have a great weekend everyone!
